This years Mini Red League could not have been any closer!
With 6 teams (Annes Aces, David Lloyd Teesside Dynamos, David Lloyd Teesside Blitzers, Eldon Grove Eagles, Saltburn Rockhoppers and Tennis World Tigers) competing over the 5 months we did not expect it too be as close as it was. The whole event has been a huge success and a real credit to the players, coaches, volunteers, clubs and parents particularly.
David Lloyd Teesside, in partnership with the local LTA office (Durham & Cleveland) started the Leagues off in 2006 and it has been a great journey of hard work, committment and enjoyment for everyone involved. Organiser Jo Cunliffe expressed,
"The Leagues are a fantastic start to these young players tennis journey. What happens at this age is all about experience, learning the game and dealing with situations that will help them as they get older. I'm absolutely thrilled with the last 6 years and am looking forward to many more!"
This years League went right down to the wire with 3 teams all challenging for the title on the last days fixtures. Victoria Cornelius, Melissa Lowe and Samantha Cornelius eagerly entered the results into the computer following all the matches and the 'confirmation' button was pressed to reveal that the David Lloyd Dynamos had clinched the League title for the first time ever!
