Farah Abdel-Aziz has won the AEGON Winter National Tour title after a tough 3 set match against the third seed.

The 18&U finals took place at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton over the weekend and un-seeded Farah did brilliantly to finish top. She managed to overcome a tough final match against third seed, Alice Keddie, beating her 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Farah is 16 years old and lives in Yarm but currently trains at The Northumberland Tennis Academy in Newcastle with Chris Sanderson. On her way to the finals she beat the No.4 seed Shannon Newnes as well as Ellie Murphy and Corinne Blythe.

Farah, who has competed at International level in Europe, Africa and Asia, said, "It feels great and I am glad that I did so well. I was positive throughout the match and I thought I served really well. For the short term I would like to improve my ITF ranking and then hopefully play in some futures events.”
