Ella Wins Player Of League Award

Monday, July 02, 2012

Ella Tindle from Stockton on Tees won the North East Player of League 2011-2012.

The prize was a £30 Pandora voucher kindly provided by local jeweller Bramwells.  Jo who is the Team Captain and local Tennis Development Manager presented Ella with her prize in front of the world famous All England Club (can't get any better than that!).  Ella then joined up with her fellow teammates to enjoy the day out watching tennis, spotting celebrities and being part of the greatest tennis tournament on the planet!

The David Lloyd Teesside player has proved what hard work, commitment and perseverance can lead to.  Ella only started competing just over a year ago and it was really tough to start off with her competing against players who had already had experience.  However this did not put her off and Ella has continued to work hard with her coach Alan Smith and this saw her once again represent David Lloyd Teesside in the North East Winter league.  Jo who is the team captain remembers Ella saying the below following a match up in Shotley & Benfieldside earlier this year,

"I don't worry if I am going to win or lose it is about enjoying the experience!  I am definitely enjoying my tennis and its great to be with my friends going to matches!"

We wish Ella continued success with everything she aims to achieve and going off what we have seen over the last 12 months or so we are sure the worlds her oyster!

The North East Girls’ League was launched in 2010 thanks in part to a donation from the Marjorie Dove Fund and support from the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative.
