Tennis World Tigers win title for 2nd year running.
Six months of competition came to a close last Saturday when the Tennis World Tigers took on the David Lloyd Teesside Dynamos. Both teams had qualified through from their respective groups and the play off was fascinating to watch.
All the players have developed their games since October and the spectators were in awe of the quality rallies. Every single player showed why tennis is such a great game with courage, determination, great sportsmanship and fun being displayed.
The final continued the exciting atmosphere that we had seen throughout the competition but the Tigers showed their strength by winning all their singles matches and then one out of the two doubles matches. Captain Libby Fletcher came to support the Tigers and was chuffed with how they all played,
“The players have worked hard over the winter season and they absolutely deserve the Mini Winter League Orange title. All of the players have improved and it is great that these opportunities continue to play a huge part in the winter calendar. Thanks to all the continued support from the parents, clubs, volunteers and coaches and we look forward to competing in AEGON Team Tennis.”
Players from the Tigers on the night included Cameron Bentham, Joseph Farmer, Ellie Tweddle and Manoj Munipalle. Over the 6 months Jack Critchlow, Jamie Curson, Ben Fox, Evie Alberti, Alex Hay and Charlotte Simpson have also competed in the Orange League for Tennis World.
