Day 4 - With the weather being on our side this week the tournament has progressed, some of the events coming to a conclusion today, with some upsets along the way with a few seeds falling.
The events that finished (and are pictured) were:
14&U Doubles: Runners Up - Andrew McBride/Ross Harl; Winners - Daniel Graham/John Heppell (pic of all 3 pairs in round robin)
14&U Boys Consolation: Runner Up - George Young; Winner - James Greenwood
18&U Girls Singles: Runner Up - Yasmin Tanfield; Winner - Emily Sim
18&U Boys Consolation: Runner Up - Joseph Nicholson; Winner - Idrees Shelmani
Today was the start of the Open Ladies and Men's events with a full 16 draw in the men's event. Juniors came back as spectators and were given some good matches to watch. As they ran late into the cool evening, spectators were supplied with lots of cups of tea and toasties made by the County President (pic) to keep them warm. As darkness fell the last match on was the ladies semi final between Jo Cunliffe and Emily Sim. Jo had just pulled through the 1st set being 5-4 down won it 7-5. At 2-0 in the 2nd set the floodlights went out, and so will have to be concluded in the morning.
So back again tomorrow for semis and finals, an exciting day ahead!
