North East and Cumbria hits 10,000 mark for British Tennis Members!

Thursday, January 24, 2013

The North East and Cumbria region is going from strength to strength which has seen all three counties reach great milestones with their British Tennis Membership (BTM) numbers.  Cumbria now has over 2000 BTM's, Northumberland is at nearly 3500 and Durham & Cleveland have smashed the 5000 marker which is an incredible achievement!

This means there are over 10,000 people in the area who are involved.  This could be playing, competing or getting involved in tennis within clubs or other tennis facilities across the North East and Cumbria.  Remember BTM is FREE to all members of Registered Places to Play....To see the full benefits please go here.

Please note the above information is for British Tennis Members. Our Places to Play membership is higher than this figure. If you are interested in joining or going along to a club contact NEandCumbria@LTA.org.uk and we can direct you to your local Places to Play.  Alternatively please go to LTA.org.uk and search from there.

There are some upcoming International events at Sunderland Tennis Centre with the AEGON GB Pro Series 17-24 March 2013 and the International Tennis Federation North East Wheelchair Tennis Tournament 25-28 February 2013. Both are free entry to come and watch.
