7 Schools from across Tyne and Wear wore smiles and pride at the County TBSF Year 3 Final!
The final stages of the most prestigious Year 3 Schools event in the country are fast approaching and the teams battled it out for the chance to reach the Regional Grand Final in 2 weeks.
There were a total of 56 eager players who played inspired matches and fun packed skills over the 3 hour event, which was held at Sunderland Tennis Centre. Organised by Andrea Field who was supported by teachers and coaches the event once again proved that hard work and committment to encourage young players to pick up rackets and learn the game is paying off.
It was great to welcome 2 Newcastle schools to this year's event who had received excellent support from Gosforth Tennis Club and Walker Technology College. The further 5 schools had entered in previous years and have great relationships with their local tennis venues.
The matches took place first and were followed by the Tennis Factory, where the youngsters are put through their paces on different skills circuits including the 'rally rebound net,' 'volley ladder,' 'can knockdown' and 'mini micro net.' All the scores were added up which gave the final positions. Once the results were in Andrea did the presentation,

New Silksworth and Cullercoats qualify through the the Tony Blair Sports Foundation Year 3 Tennis Challenge Cup Regional Final, taking place on Friday July 12th at Sunderland Tennis Cenytre. We are looking foward to another fun packed event and wish the schools the best of luck!
