Durham Archery LTC hosted a Great British Tennis Weekend and introduced some new people to tennis!
The club hosted an Open Day in conjunction with the Nation-wide Great British Tennis Weekend campaign which aims to introduce new people to tennis and have fun on court! Durham Archery opened their gates to the masses on 18th May, and offered a day of completely free tennis.
A total of 46 visitors attending, joining in in activities such as Free Play, Tie Break Champ and Hit the Cone, which the juniors loved! They also had loan of a speed gun to test people's serve speeds - the top 2 speeds recorded were 91 and 96 miles per hour - getting up to professional player's speeds there!
Their membership secretary was kept busy throughout the day with numerous enquiries about being able to join the club as a member. Ian Woods Sports also supported the day and brought down a great selection of this year's rackets for both members and visitors to try.
All in all it was a great day, with fantastic weather to boot!
