Jo Ward has been appointed by the LTA as Essex She Rallies Ambassador.
She Rallies is an LTA initiative, spearheaded by Judy Murray, to get more women coaching and more girls playing tennis. Sadly, females are outnumbered 4:1 at all ages and levels in tennis, from minis to teenagers, coaches to senior management personnel. British Tennis is taking great strides to redress that imbalance.
As an Ambassador, Jo’s role to train female coaches, teachers, Brownie Leaders, and in fact any female who has an interest in delivering tennis to girls. They are offered the opportunity to attend a free three-hour workshop, and then receive ongoing support in the form of a fully-stocked kit bag, mentoring, and delivery notes and videos. The workshops are held all over Essex, and can even be delivered onsite in your club.
The workshops available are:
- Lil Miss-Hits - mini tennis for girls aged 5-8
- Fun Days - drills and activities to grow your camp content
- Teen Tennis - ideas to introduce teenagers into the game
- Recreational Competition - quirky competition for girls and women of all ages
