The Batian Team Club Championships

An exciting new shoot out style, one day team club event comes to Woodford Wells Club in Essex this summer. Eight teams from clubs within the County will battle it out for the day with the winner being crowned The Batian Essex Club Champions 2014. The event will form part of The Woodford Wells Club 150th year celebrations, and will see teams of four men and four ladies will play off against their opposites in a Mens and Ladies singles, a Mens and Ladies doubles, and a Mixed Doubles finale in each tie. The exciting new scoring format, in which every single game counts towards the teams final score, ensures a finely balanced team battle from the first point to the last.

Urgent appeal - windbreakers needed!

Does any club in Essex have windbreakers they are not using?  An Essex club is desperately in need of some. 

An exciting day at the Essex Winter Individual finals

The finals of this popular tournament took place on Sunday 23rd March at the Redbridge Sports Centre.  As usual, there was some excellent tennis playedand this year there were a number of players who had not reached the finals before.

ECLTA Winter Senior - Junior singles Invitation Tournament

Yet another successful Senior – Junior Singles Invitation Tournament was run most successfully at Redbridge Sports Centre on the weekend of the 8^th-9^th February 2014. These events are supported by our Senior County Players and most promising Junior Players

David Lloyd Basildon Spring Tournament 2014

One of the most popular Junior Tournaments of the winter was held indoors at David Lloyd Basildon during the February half term week. An entry of over 200 boys and girls, proved the point. The standard of play throughout the week was excellent, as was the behaviour, which cumulated into exciting finals.

Disappointing result for Essex U18 Boys in the Junior Inter County Cup

Essex Boys Under 18 team have failed to retain their Division 1 status despite best efforts against strong Surrey, Yorkshire, and Warwickshire sides. The team played some excellent tennis but came up against strong opposition.

Essex U18 Girls maintain their place in Division 2 of the County Cup

The Essex girls put in a great team performance this weekend to keep their place in Division 2 of the Junior Inter County Cup after a weekEnd of tough competition with Kent, Notts and Bucks.

Essex U18 Boys take third place in the 12 Counties

The Essex team for the U18’s 12 Counties consisted of Tom Pudney, Jared Linzell, Sam Bayda and Peter Odegbami. The Essex boys were in division 1 which consisted of Hertfordshire, Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire
