Day 1
Gloucestershire V Surrey 3-2
We had a tough group on the first day so we were really pleased to win against Surrey. Spencer Moore played at number 1, Sam Austin at number 2 and Ellison Minnaar at number 3. Spencer had a tough first match but played well and showed great courage throughout his match. Sam went on to win his match but Ellison lost his in the third set toe break. Ellison and Sam played an excellent doubles match, meaning we then had to win a tie break shoot out to beat Team Surrey. Sam and Ellison played the shoot out and the rets of the team showed excellent support for the boys. They played brilliantly together once again and their tactics worked, winning them the match and meaning Team Glos had defeated Surrey.
Gloucestershire V Kent 1-3
The boys were in really good spirits after already getting a win and they were confident despite knowing that Kent would be a tough team to beat. We were set to lose all three singles matches as we were down in all of them, but then Ellison turned his match around and won his second set then went on to win the third set tie break. Sam and Ellison played a very close doubles match, but the other team were just to strong.
Day 2
Gloucestershire VS Channel Islands 4-0
Sam played at number 1, Ellison at number 2 and Felix at number 3. All boys won their matches convincingly so we had a great start. Ellison and Charlton played a great doubles match, winning 4-2, 4-2.
Gloucestershire VS Sussex 2-3
Spencer played a brilliant singles match against one of the best players in the country but he was defeated. Sam and Ellison both went on to win their singles matches, putting us at a 2-1 lead. Spencer and Sam played doubles and after wining the first set, they struggled to keep the lead and unfortunately they lost the third set tie break. Ellison and Sam played the tie break shoot out but they lost the match after giving it their best shot.
I was really pleased with the effort and attitude from all of our players. All the boys performed really well and worked brilliantly as a team, supporting each other both on and off the court.
