Oxstalls awarded Junior Club of the Year

Oxstalls Tennis Centre were recently awarded with The Gloucestershire Media & Sports Award for Junior Club of the Year.

The Gloucestershire Echo and The Citizen recognised the true heroes of grassroots and professional sport.

The Gloucestershire Media Sports Awards have become one of the highlights of the county’s sporting calendar and 2012's was no exception.

11 awards in total were presented, covering a range of sporting successes.

Oxstalls Tennis Centre

A VIBRANT and open access tennis facility, the centre offers plenty of opportunities for everybody.

The club was recognised as the National Tennis Club of the Year last November 2011 for their mini and junior tennis programme – the first time the award was awarded to a public facility tennis club.

They provide strong partnerships with local, regional and national Lawn Tennis Association teams and have strong links with schools and communities.

The club have a Tennis Disability programme for children and adults with special educational needs, Down's Syndrome group, parent and child social session and wheelchair tennis for juniors and adults.

The club have over 430 children attending after-school courses with 764 British Tennis Members.
