"30th June 2012

Gloucestershire v Hertfordshire 0-4

  1. Amy Morse (8.1) lost to Michaella Brown (6.2) 1-4 0-4
  2. Megan Brown (9.1) lost to Danielle Latter (6.2) 0-4 0-4
  3. Nina Perry (9.2) lost to Larissa Gungah (7.1) 0-4 0-4
  4. Morse & Brown lost to Latter & Gale 0-4 0-4

A tough start to the weekend against a very strong Hertfordshire side. The girls put in their best efforts, however, they came up against a team of players in the top 20 in the country U12.

Gloucestershire v Middlesex 0-4

  1. Amy Morse lost to Aleksandra Topalovic (7.1) 1-4 0-4
  2. Megan Brown lost to Danielle Daley (7.2) 0-4 1-4
  3. Nina Perry lost to Angel Craig-Tapper (7.2) 0-4 0-4
  4. Morse & Perry lost to Topalovic & Craig-Tapper 2-4 0-4

Another very difficult match against a very strong side. Amy and Nina had a close first set in the doubles and fought hard for their 2 games.

1st July

Gloucestershire v Buckinghamshire 0-4

  1. Amy Morse lost to Lauren King-Sparke (6.2) 0-4 1-4
  2. Megan Brown lost to Lauren Armstrong (7.2) 0-4 0-4
  3. Danielle Gibson lost to Indu Ragunather (8.1) 0-4 0-4
  4. Brown & Perry lost to King-Sparke & Armstrong 1-4 1-4

A good effort from the team but up against another strong team. Megan and Nina did really well to win 2 games in their doubles, they chased every ball and never gave up.

Gloucestershire v Oxfordshire 1-3

  1. Amy Morse beat Annabel Denly (8.1) 4-2 4-1
  2. Nina Perry lost to Lauren Keeler (8.1) 2-4 0-4
  3. Danielle Gibson lost to Evie Phillips (8.2) 2-4 4-5 (2)
  4. Morse & Gibson lost to Keeler & Jagger 0-4 0-4

Finally the team gained some success after all the hard work they had all put in over the weekend. Amy battled hard and won fairly comfortably in the end. A shame Danielle couldn’t get a win as well, she played brilliantly only to fall at the final hurdle.

Overall

It was great that the girls could go home with a sense of achievement after Amy’s win in the last match. All the girls had a great attitude and gave 110%.  It really showed the girls what they needed to improve to become more successful. They will all learn from this trip and hopefully be able to build on their experiences."
