During the course of the sporting year, members of the East Gloucestershire Club often organise charity events which benefit both national and local organisations.
On this occasion the club cast a wider eye and organised some events to assist Haiti. To mark the finale of the month long appeal, Keiko Hirano, the executive member for social events, arranged a ladies fun tennis tournament.
In some glorious spring weather on Friday the 5th March, over 20 lady tennis enthusiasts, supported by club president Mary Eyre MBE, enjoyed some competitive and fun tennis. Concluding with a meal and raffle draw, the club raised a total of £457.79, which will be presented to the Oxfam Earthquake Appeal.
