The Batian Team Club Championships
The Batian Hampshire County Club Battle 2014
Steep Lawn Tennis Club
Sunday 25th May
An exciting new shoot out style, one day team club event comes to Steep Lawn Tennis Club in Hampshire this summer. Eight teams from clubs within the County will battle it out for the day with the winner being crowned The Batian Hampshire Club Champions 2014. Teams of four men and four ladies will play off against their opposites in a Mens and Ladies singles, a Mens and Ladies doubles, and a Mixed Doubles finale in each tie. The exciting new scoring format, in which every single game counts towards the teams final score, ensures a finely balanced team battle from the first point to the last.
The event is a celebration of British Club team tennis, and is designed for adult team players aged 18 years or over, who are full fee paying members of their club and whose ratings do not exceed 4.1 standard. The Steep Lawn Tennis Club will welcome clubs, spectators and tennis enthusiasts from around the County to enjoy a fun, social and competitive days tennis at their Club. Play commences at 9am and will continue throughout the day, with a BBQ planned to be running throughout the afternoon.
The Batian Team Club Championships 2014 will see eight County Club Battles taking place across the Country, with the winner of each of these events qualifying for a place in The Batian National Club Championships taking place in September.
The event is the brainchild of former ATP ranked player, Barry Fulcher, and forms part of The Batian Series - a new concept in tennis events, which seek a return to the true spirit of competition, providing traditional and inclusive competitive opportunities to tennis players of all ages and abilities.
