Four of Hampshire’s aspiring young tennis players have been selected by Sport Hampshire & Isle of Wight to receive support towards their tennis over the next 12 months.
The Talented Athletes Scheme offers three level of support to athletes within the county – Gold, Silver and Bronze and benefits include:
• Grants up to £500
• Free access to selected training facilities throughout the county
• Discounted fast track physiotherapy and sports science support
• Free bus transport, via Stage Coach, First Group and Blue Star
• Access to an annual sport science conference
• Access to an education based mentoring scheme
Players from all sports were eligible to apply for funding and those selected were chosen based on their national positions within their respective sport. Those selected within tennis were Thandy Mlambo, Ella Taylor, Natalie Sayer and Nick Sayer.
