The Boys 18 & Under AEGON Team Tennis team fell at the final hurdle this weekend as they finished runners-up at the National Tennis Centre.
The team, who play and train at various clubs around Hampshire but access David Lloyd Southampton lost to Chandos Lawn Tennis Club from Middlesex 4-1 on rubbers.
The matches were tight at times and Nick Sayer, playing number one for Southampton lost out to Chandos number one Artiom Kulpokov in a tense third set match tie-break. There was however earlier success for Mike Johnson as he recorded the teams only win.
Elsewhere two Hampshire players, Ella Taylor and Natalie Sayer were part of the winning West Hants High Performance Team who won the National AEGON Team Tennis 14 & Under Girls Title on the clay courts at Roehampton.
