On the hottest day of the year, ten secondary schools from across Hampshire & Isle of Wight battled it out at the Totton & Eling Tennis Centre in the new Hampshire School Sports Partnership Years 7 & 8 Tennis Competition.
The new event was created in partnership with the LTA and in total over sixty secondary schools have took part. Schools entered a team of four players and each played singles and doubles against opposing schools within their schools sports partnership. The winners of each partnership event then met at Totton & Eling to battle it out for the title.
The winning school was Kings who played fantastically all day to defeat some notable opposition.
With the new Years 7 & 8 competition now in place, attention will turn to not only growing the event next year to increase on the 60+ schools that entered this year, but to also introduce a new Years 3 & 4 competition for primary schools throughout the county.
