Ryde Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club recently held a 12 hour Tennisathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
It was a beautiful sunny day and our members, family and friends came out in force to raise over £1000. Players from 2 to 70+ enjoyed tennis whilst family and friends took to the croquet lawns. The serve speed gun challenge was won by James Scully Sayer who recorded 97mph despite being injured. The cake sale was a huge hit with so many juniors both baking and eating cakes. There was even a life sized parrot playing tennis with our juniors.
The event raised £1097.65 which has been donated to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice Macmillan Nurses.
