Hampshire's two-time Paralympic gold medallist Peter Norfolk will be competing in the wheelchair tennis event taking place at the US Open at Flushing Meadows, New York, this week.
Norfolk won the US Open title back in 2007 and last year travelled to Beijing as the world's best quad wheelchair singles player. At Beijing Peter made history, collecting his second gold medal.
"It's great to be back in New York at the US Open, where I will try and defend my title of two years ago" said Norfolk. "It's an inspiring place with a great buzz about it and i'm looking forward to competing on the big stage again".
As well as winning the US Open in 2007 and the Paralympic gold medal, Norfolk has also won the last two Australian Open events at Melbourne Park.
