Hampshire's Peter Norfolk won the US Open quad wheelchair title this week, defeating David Wagner of the USA in the final. Norfolk, who lives in Alton was defending champion and thrived on the atmosphere in New York to collect his second US Open title. It was Norfolk's 16th major title of his career.
Elsewhere, Channel Islands resident Heather Watson capped off a great week for players from the region by becoming Britain's first girls US Open Champion.
