The Junior and Adult County Championships took place last week with the majority of the success going to players from Winchester Tennis & Squash Club.
The Junior event taking place for the second year at Winchester Tennis Club featured over 200 entrants with ages ranging from 8 – 18. In the Mini Tennis events Zach Corner won the 8 & Under event, with Ryan Golesworthy and Esther Adeshina winning the boys and girls events in the 9 & Under competition. Thandiwe Mlambo walked away with the 10 & Under Girls title with Matthew Whitehead winning the boys.

There was huge competition within the older age groups with Ashtey Pauls and Hannah Crawford both capping off a successful day by winning the 18 & Under Boys & Girls titles. Samm Butler defeated Robert Mitchell in 3 sets to be crowned 16 & Under County Champion with Natalie Sayer taking the girls title.
Miles McDowell defeated Ryan Bates in a high quality 14 & Under Boys event before later teaming up with Harvey Reed to win the boys doubles. Emily Kerr strolled through the girls event, defeating Olivia James in the final. Angus McDowell later followed his brother’s success by winning the 12 & Under Boys with Louise Collier winning the girls title.
