H&W Aegon County Cup Boys Team
Venue: Billesley - Birmingham.
Team: Alex Parker, Oliver Nunn, Alex Maggs, Patrik Hyde, Nathan Snow
On the first day the boys only played doubles against South Wales and managed to win both rubbers which meant we began the singles the following day 2 0 up. Alex Parker and Patrik Hyde both had good wins to seal a 4-2 victory.
The boys then had to play East of Scotland and again the singles were shared 2-2. Alex Parker winning again and Oliver Nunn managed to win a 3 hour marathon 7-6 in the 3rd set. However we lost both doubles to some very good play by a young Scotland team so went down after a very long and tough day 2-4.
So the final day saw a 3rd place play off against Shropshire. After defeats for Paddy Hyde and Alex Maggs, Alex Parker and Oliver Nunn managed to win comfortably so we went into the doubles 2-2 once again. After Nathan Snow and Paddy Hyde lost Nunn and Parker then won so that set up a tie break shoot out to decide the winner.
The shoot out started badly and H&W went 6-9 down so faced 3 match points. They then produced a fantastic comeback and ended up victorious 11-9. A very exciting end to the weekend.
