Last weekend saw the Grand Opening of the new tennis court and the new croquet lawn at one of the county's most successful small clubs - Eardisley Tennis Club in Herefordshire
The club reports.....
What a great day to round off all the hard work by those members who have tirelessly worked to raise the money & then spend it! The weather was sort of kind to us, not too dull, not too hot.
The grand opening took place at around 2pm with Olive Morgan cutting the tape. Olive is now our most senior member and was part of the team that resurrected the club in the 90's. Olive reminisced about the life and times of the club. She was accompanied by mini tennis star "Suzi" who went on to entertain the kids on court afterwards.
The first ball was knocked on our new, but not quiet ready yet, croquet lawn. This shot was taken by Roy Weaver a leading national exponent of the sport;
The raffle was a great success with loads of prizes donated by members, thanks to those that did. A brace of bouncy castles just on the millennium green gave the youngsters, and some "older" children a bit of fun all afternoon. We were all well fed & watered with BBQ on hand and drinks. Thanks to all those who helped on the day and those who came and supported our club - see you at the next open day.....
