The Great British Tennis Weekend took off at Manor Park with a parent/child mini doubles event which saw 25 pairs taking part.
The mini tennis orange event was won by Sam Laidler and father, James and the red event was won by Jake Moroni and his father, Fred. All parents who attended have been invited to attend a 6-week tennis Xpress course which is expected to be full and a number of new family memberships will be taken up.
Coach Chris Skinner said: "The publicity certainly made a difference and we of course welcome new families at any time".
