This weekend will be a very busy one for members of Albany LTC. The President of the Lawn Tennis Association, Mrs Cathie Sabin OBE, accompanied by her husband, John, will be here for 3 days as a special guest of the club. She will be guest of honour at the club's Dinner on Friday to celebrate 50yrs since buying one acre of farmland for £485 and starting the long road of fund raising to build courts and a clubhouse at Ballaughton Meadows. Whilst here she will visit the Friday Morning Ladies and Ballacottier school on the Friday. Saturday will include a guided tour of the NSC and then visit the club's Mini Tennis programme held each Saturday, where it's planned to have an official photo for the club's sponsor, Auxesia Ltd. All Mini and Junior members are asked to wear the green and white Auxesia shirts. Mrs Sabin will also see some of the traditional sites of the island including a lap of the TT course, Laxey Wheel and a visit to the Calf Sound.
Anyone wanting to attend the IOMLTA dinner at Douglas Golf Club on 21 October must get their names to me with cheques. £16.25 payable to IOMLTA by absolutely no later than Monday
