Charnwood Lawn TC women’s 1st XI pulled off a comprehensive victory in their last summer league match against Hamilton at the Nanpantan Ground to secure their Leicestershire League top flight status. The outcome was, in the end a comfortable six rubbers to three victory which brought on great celebrations from the Charnwood team.
Team captain Caroline Wilkinson was understandably delighted with the result and pointed out that it was vital in the continued development of the club which is currently involved in the planning of major ground improvements with Charnwood Borough Council.
“We need top level tennis at a club as big as ours so staying in Division One was of prime importance,” she said.
