The champagne was being popped this week at Market Harborough TC as the club celebrated achieving LTA clubmark accreditation. The four court club have become the fourteenth in Leicestershire to achieve the accreditation.
Tennis Clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and communication. Market Harborough have been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Leicestershire and Derbyshire visited Market Harborough to present the clubmark plaque and congratulate the club committee on their efforts.
“I would like to congratulate Market Harborough on achieving clubmark accreditation. Lesley Paris has done a fantastic job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. It’s been a great effort by the club and its volunteers and demonstrates their commitment to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for the local tennis community” said Paul.
It’s been a busy year for Market Harborough TC who launched a new grade four tournament in August and have just completed the resurfacing of one of their courts. The club will now turn their attention to upgrading their clubhouse.
