Ashby Castle TC were celebrating this week as they became the latest club in Leicestershire to achieve LTA clubmark accreditation. The seven court club have become the sixteenth in Leicestershire to achieve the accreditation.
Tennis Clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and communication. Ashby Castle have been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Leicestershire and Derbyshire visited Ashby to present the clubmark plaque and congratulate the club committee on their efforts.
“I would like to congratulate Ashby Castle on achieving clubmark accreditation. Claire Bridges and Katie Higson have done a fantastic job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. It’s been a great effort by the club and its volunteers and demonstrates their commitment to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for the local tennis community” said Paul.
Ashby Castle appointed Jon Lawton as theire new Head Coach in early 2009 and since then the club has gone from strength to strength developing their coaching and competition programme.
