It is time for clubs to enter the 2012 Wilson Summer and Winter Leagues for seniors and veterans, as well as the Mercury Cup. Letters have gone out to clubs, but if you haven't received the mailing, the entry form for the 2012 Senior Competitions can be downloaded here. There is now a new Super Vets over 60 Men’s league, which will commence in March.
2011 was a great year for our summer leagues. Only 22 of the 1472 matches were not played, giving us an excellent 98% completion rate. A good deal of effort went into getting BTM numbers for all players, and we are delighted that we now have 2330 players with numbers, as this makes thing much easier for those of us involved in the administration of the leagues.
The Committee have announced that apart from minor wording changes, the rules will remain as in 2011. They are keen to maintain the excellent spirit within the leagues, but have some concerns about stronger players appearing in the lower divisions, especially early in the season.and have decided to monitor this more closely next year.
