Melton Mowbray's Ryan Parmar could hardly hide his delight after getting up close and personal with the cream of world tennis at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Having won a nationwide competition, the Long Field High School pupil shared the court at the O2 Arena with, among others, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic as well as Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Jo-Wilfrid Tsonga and David Ferrer.
And, after his week in the spotlight with the Barclays Ball Kids, Parmar, 15 – who saw off 2,500 other children to get his 15 minutes of fame – admitted it had been an experience to savour.
"It's been a good week although it was quite tiring," said Parmar – who appeared in front of 35,000 spectators a day at the London event.
"Being on court for the Roger Federer game against Rafael Nadal was amazing because the crowd were just so loud.
"It was better than I expected it to be because I thought we would just be on the job 24-7 but we got to do other things.
"Getting a high five from Roger Federer was probably my highlight of the few days."
