Three clubs fight for title

Friday, July 22, 2011

There is a three-way battle for the men's Wilson Premier League title.

Defending champions Leicester Forest East are being chased by The Leicestershire and Syston Northfields.

They all have crunch matches against each other during the run-in, and LFE have a match in hand against bottom club Kibworth.

Oakham and Oadby are neck and neck in the Group One title race, with only one team guaranteed promotion to the Premier Division.

David Lloyd (Narborough) first team have a 100 per-cent record in Group 3A and are set to be promoted for the sixth consecutive season, while Leicestershire C are also looking to finish the season with an unblemished record in 3B.

The women's title chase is likely to go to the last match of the season with reigning champions Leicestershire being challenged all the way by Hamilton. Ashby are also still in the race.
