The recent Mini Orange Festival of Tennis was very successful, with all the competitors playing 5 matches, so 60 matches completed in total, with many of them going to 3 sets. There was a very high standard of play and a really valuable event.
In stage 1 we had the Federer group of Cambs, Shrops, Norfolk ‘A’ and Notts, and the Nadal group had Northants, Leics, Norfolk ‘B’ and Herts.
Norfolk ‘A’ won Federer group having won 6 tie-breaks and losing 3, the same as Notts, but had beaten them in the Head-to-Head. Cambs came third as they had won 5 tie-breaks and lost 4, while Shrops came 4th.
Herts won Nadal group having won all three matches, with Norfolk ‘B’ coming second, Leics 3rd and Northants 4th.
In Stage 2, the knock-out stage, we played the winners of one group against the second placed of the other, in the semi finals, while there was a play-off for 5/6th place and 7/8th place.
In the first semi final, Norfolk ‘B’ beat Norfolk ‘A’ 3-0, while Herts beat Notts 2-1. Herts then won the final 2-1 against Norfolk ‘B’.
3/4 place was won by Notts who beat Norfolk ‘A’ 2-1.
In the playoffs, Cambs beat Northants 3-0, while Leics beat Shrops 3-0. Leics then beat Cambs 2-1 to come 5th, and Cambs 6th. Northants beat Shrops 3-0 to come 7th.

3rd place – Notts
4th place – Norfolk ‘A’
5th place – Leics
6th place – Cambs
7th place – Northants
8th place – Shrops
