Head Coach Appointment
Central United Reformed Church Tennis Club
CURC Tennis Club (established 1922) is situated in the Blagreaves area of Derby. The Central United Reformed Church owns the ground, which the club shares with Derby Congs Cricket Club, but the tennis club is open to all members of the public. We offer good earning potential to the successful candidate.
Courts: The Club has 5 tennis courts, comprising 3 new artificial grass courts which provide a medium-paced playing experience, one new painted tarmacadam court and one older painted tarmacadam court.
Pavilion: There is a modern pavilion, shared with the Cricket Club, providing excellent social and changing facilities. This has recently been extended and re-furbished.
Grounds: The club is situated in attractive and substantial grounds in the Blagreaves area of Derby. The entrance is on Cricket Lane (between 25 and 27 Brayfield Road).
Our requirements
We wish to enter into an agreement with a self-employed coach who will organise a core coaching programme at the club and help us to achieve ‘Club Mark’ in the near future. The person we are looking for will:
- be qualified to at least DCA level and hold a full LTA Licence
- be willing and able to develop a core coaching programme involving all ages
- develop links between the club and local schools
- have good social skills and be a excellent communicator
- encourage team and competitive play at the club
- through his or her efforts, increase the membership of the club
- be enthusiastic about youth development and implement activities not only to coach young people but also involve suitable young candidates in the coaching programme as helpers
- encourage social play at the club and attend club social events when possible
- Have a proven track record in tennis coaching and at least two years’ experience
