After Victoria Tennis Club's Centenary in 2010 the club has continued to grow, their recent annual ‘Play Tennis Day’ was a great success. The fun filled day attracted near 100 children on court, and off court bouncy castles, cake stalls, book stalls, bbq’s, bric a brac stalls and treasure tubes all helped raise money for the development of the club.
The on court activity for the children was led by Head Coach Peter Law, activities included a ball machine, speed gun, inflatable targets and lots of fun and games. Every child received a prize! All prizes were donated & supported by’ Wilson’ and’ Withers intersport’. A local Florist, Floristeria sponsored the flyers. As the club make such an effort and have such success at their open days, Wilson also supported them with their brand new range of racquets and lots of special tournament windbreaks and racquet stands to make the day as professional as possible. 15 new members signed up on the day! A great success!
This year the club designed a new club kit! All children from 4-18 years old are loving and enjoying the matching top, shorts and hoodies. ‘Rowley’s’ accountants, were very kind in sponsoring the club to cover the cost of the printing to help keep costs down for the children.
The junior leagues are in full flow and the children are getting many comments on how great the new team kit looks.
Victoria Tennis club has also supported the great new Mini Tennis rewards initiative from the LTA. The rewards include stickers, badges, certificates and other tennis accessories!
The first stages were recently completed, the children loved the new challenges and can’t wait for the next level! The club believes they are one of the first to do the awards in the city!
