Teenage tennis star Ana Webber received the Florence Howard Trophy at Oakham Tennis Club this week.
The award is presented to a junior player who contributes significantly to the tennis club and the 14-year-old from Uppingham was chosen because of her assistance with the club’s coaching programme and her achievement in her own tennis.
Ana, who is an academy player at the High Performance Centre at Loughborough University, was recently invited to join the Leicestershire U18 County Cup squad which played at a three day event at Newport, Wales.
Ana was by far the youngest member and travelled as a reserve but she did play in one singles event on the final day. The team narrowly missed promotion and came second.
She will represent the county side this weekend as an U16 at a 12 Counties tournament in Corby.
