Sunday 17th February at Corby Indoor Tennis Centre the Leicestershire Under 12 Team were in action in the 12 Counties competition.
Our 4 girls (Anna Chesca, Lilia Boukikova, Sarah Astill and Katy Gradon) and boys (Rahul Dhokia, Alex Lunn, Daniel Tarokh and Ben Moore) made a great start to the day beating Bedfordshire 3-1 and 4-0 respectively.
Next up were Northants and both boys and girls won 4-0 giving us some great momentum going up against an also unbeaten Essex side.
Anna Chesca got us off to a great start but eventually the girls were pegged back to a 2-2 draw. This meant that the girls ended up joint 1st with Essex.
The boys had some great matches but eventually lost 3-1 finishing 2nd in their group.
Stand out performances from Anna Chesca winning all her matches at No: 1 and Daniel Tarokh wining all at the no: 3 spot. Rahul Dhokia also deserves special mention for his excellent performance against the Essex No: 1 narrowly losing 4-1, 3-5, 7-10. A credit for both his performance and behaviour though out the event.
