Sport England has announced a further £20 million funding to the Inspired Facilities fund.
Since 2011, £71 million has been invested in the previous 5 funding rounds which have supported 1300 projects to improve and refurbish sports clubs and transform non-sporting venue into modern grassroots sports facilities.
Investment is available for sports clubs, local authorities, schools and parish councils to help fix facilities that can be unattractive, expensive to run and difficult to maintain, and to convert existing buildings into venues that are suitable for grassroots sport.
Changes to the Inspired Facilities fund see it now being an open programme which means clubs/organisations can submit applications as soon as they are ready rather than being restricted by a specific deadline.
Decision meetings will then take place twice a year:
Application Submission Date |
Assessment Meeting |
6th June 2014 |
September 2014 |
3rd November 2014 |
February 2015 |
Funding amounts have also changed and Community and voluntary organisations are now able to bid for grants of between £20,000 and £75,000, with other organisations such as councils and schools able to apply for grants of up to £150,000.
