sported. is the UK’s leading sport for development charity. They welcome applications for membership from Not-for-profit organisations working with 11-25 year olds from disadvantaged communities, and who are using sport to improve the lives of individuals and communities. sported. membership and services are free of charge.
The support available includes funding, access to web based development resources, online experts, an insurance offer, mentoring on the business side of your project (e.g. business planning, marketing, policies and procedures) and for groups who have gone through the mentoring scheme there is a larger grants programme available for application.
They currently have two grant schemes open exclusively to members:
Small grants – this scheme offers grants up to £2,000 to any sported. member that hasn’t been supported by a Mentor. The funding is to support financial needs of your organisation
Large grants – available to groups who are being supported by a Mentor and are part of a wider package of business support. The average grant in this scheme is £6,000 and sported. are able to support salaries, overheads and programme delivery costs

New £18m fund to improve primary school sports facilities
From 2014 onwards primary schools across England will be able to benefit from £18 million of National Lottery funding to improve sports facilities in schools.
The new funding pot announced today by the Chancellor of the Exchequer during his Autumn Statement will help primary schools which have little or no outside space which can currently be used for P.E. and sport to get more young people active.
The Primary School Sport Facilities Fund will be run by Sport England and will open to expressions of interest in Spring 2014.

Cash 4 Clubs
This scheme is funded by Betfair and SportsAid to facilitate fundraising for community sports clubs throughout the country. Clubs must be registered with their National Governing Body or Local authority. Awards average £1,000 each.
The next round is open until the end of February, for awards distributed in March.
