Leicestershire Ladies had a fantastic week at the Fenners Ground in Cambridge, finishing top of Division 4.
It was great to have Helen Thorpe back in the team after a couple of years away, and she had excellent results with her partner Charlie Griffin. Bethany and Corinne played for the first time at county week with Corinne winning 10 out of 14 rubbers.
On Thursday Leicestershire played against South Wales, knowing that a win would secure promotion. It was an extremely competitive tie with Leicestershire coming back from match points down in two of the rubbers to win 6-3.
Team Captain Becky Scrivins said: Having been relegated last year, it was a brilliant effort, particularly to win with a day to spare. The younger team members also gained some valuable experience ready for Division 3 next year.
Results:
Leicestershire beat North Wales 8-1
Leicestershire beat Somerset 5-4
Leicestershire beat Gloucestershire 5-4
Leicestershire beat South Wales 6-3
