Club chair Rachel Opie, the committee and an enterprising team of coaches had their hard work and dedication rewarded when Andy McFeeters, Regional Tennis Development Manager for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), travelled from Nottingham to present the award.
Loyal members of St James Tennis Club (Grimsby) had arranged a surprise for Club Manager Rachel Opie to commemorate the presentation of the Tennis Clubmark Award.
St James has demonstrated its commitment to developing tennis by sending a coaching team into all primary schools in North East Lincolnshire, and many secondary schools.
The club also runs coaching sessions for players of all ages and abilities, nurturing children from as young as three to develop their fitness, racket and ball skills, and social skills.
The club hope to make the sport accessible to all and establish a new indoor centre to cater for the growing needs of the tennis community.
