On the first day we were up against Northamptonshire. We knew we had to hit the ground running and get off to a good start. After a delayed start due to rain and indoor court availability we started well with Lianne and Madeline winning a key rubber against their 3rd pair. It was a long day but Lincolnshire deserved the 5-4 win. A great team effort to start of the competition.
Next up was Shropshire. Everyone was playing well and full of confidence going into this match. Danielle and Charlie won an important match, the start of a good partnership. Lianne and Emily secured a fantastic win over the Shropshire 1st pair. Faye and Sally played well together winning all six matches so far.
Lincolnshire and Durham and Cleveland, both unbeaten, on the last day were in a playoff for promotion. We knew it would be a tough test. After the first round of matches Lincolnshire was 2-1 down Lianne and Madeline picking up a vital rubber against their 3rd pair keeping Lincolnshire in the match. Charlie and Danielle secured a super win over the 3rd pair which meant after the second round of matches we were only 4-2 down. We knew we had to win the last 3 matches to secure victory. Unfortunately Durham and Cleveland were too strong on the day and won the match 6-3.
