DAY 1
Lincolnshire’s first match was against a young but strong Warwickshire team, who eventually won through stage 1 to qualify for stage 2.
Lincolnshire lined up with ROSE THOMAS, VICKY BEARDSLEY and CHLOE ROBINSON in the singles with Rose and Vicky pairing up for the doubles. Rose was the only winner from the singles matches so with the doubles going on Lincs needed to win. After a close match they came through in a tie break 3rd set to send it to a shootout – unfortunately Vicky and Rose went down 10-6 so the match was just lost. This seemed to set the tone for the weekend.
Lincolnshire’s second match was against Leicestershire. Unfortunately we went down 3-1, with Vicky Beardsley winning her singles. The doubles again was a close match, which was decided in a third set tie break.
DAY 2
First up today was Northants. Day 2 was following the same pattern as day 1, with Lincs going 2 - down after the singles, with Rose Thomas winning her match. Vicky and Chloe teamed up for the doubles, but again, just came up short and lost in a third set tie break.
The final match was against Nottinghamshire, this time Lincolnshire held the advantage going into the doubles with Rose and Vicky both winning their singles. After some good performances by all players over the weekend I believe we got what we deserved in the final match when Rose and Vicky won the doubles to win the match 3-1.
