The evening began with the presentation of trophies from the Lincoln & District Tennis League presented by Chairman John Copsey. Winning teams for 2013 were Men’s - Saxilby, Ladies - David Lloyd Burton Waters, Mixed 1 - David Lloyd Burton Waters 1 and Mixed 2 - Sleaford 2.
This year’s Lincolnshire Tennis Awards winners were chosen from a number of nominations received and included Lydia Walker, Megan Jones, Madison Cook, Ed Colclough, Henry Beesley, Andrew Isaac, Otto Jawahir, Grantham College, Isaac Newton School, Justin Revill, Jason Revill, Richard Cragg, Steve Wood, Laura White, Grantham Junior Committee, Louth Tennis Club, Tennis Buddies 16U Girls team and of course several Fair Play nominees.
The winners were:
Coach of the Year – Ed Allinson (Louth Tennis & Sports Centre)
Volunteer of the Year – Julie Leighton (Sleaford Tennis Club
Team of the Year – Lincs Men’s County Cup Team
Junior Girl Player of the Year – Lucy Evans (David Lloyd Burton Waters)
Junior Boy Player of the Year – Joe Woolley (Louth Tennis & Sports Centre)
School/College of the Year – West Grantham Academy, St Hugh’s
Best Individual Performance of the Year – Otto Jawahir (David Lloyd Burton Waters)
Fair Play Award - Faye Button
Lifetime Contribution – Bob Taylor (Rustons Tennis Club
Lifetime Contribution- Allan Thompson (Grimsby Tennis Centre)
Special Achievement Award – Sarah Patton (Grantham Tennis Club)
The winning Slazenger Lincolnshire Mini Tennis league teams and club – Eastgate Red, Boston Orange and Boston Green were presented with team medals and Boston received the club medals.
