After carefully studying the responses received by Marianne O’Connor, Lincolnshire LTA Executive Committee has decided to retain the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League in its present format. The League is still as popular as ever, despite there being many more match opportunities than in former years.
Some Clubs spoke of the league as the “flagship league” for Lincolnshire. This we wish to retain and of course it is an Open league for all age groups. However, it is appreciated that a number of players wish to play a shorter format and therefore from Summer 2015;

- The Executive propose to offer a new Slazenger Lincolnshire Summer Seniors League
- For Senior Players (Men over 45 and Ladies over 40)
- Matches to be doubles between 2 pairs. That is 4 rubbers altogether.
- This would be similar to the Winter Seniors League except
- Each rubber to be 2 sets to six with a normal tiebreak at 6-6 and a Match tiebreak to 10 as a third set if needed to determine the winners.
- This means that every rubber will have a result though the match could be drawn.
Matches in the new League would be scheduled to coincide with the Aegon League and NOT with the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League so that it would usually be possible to play in both competitions.
In September we will be distributing entry forms to clubs for the Summer 2015 to include decisions on entry for:
- Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League
- Slazenger Lincolnshire Summer Seniors League
