Day One: We opened up on the first day against East of Scotland. Full of confidence, our no.6, Andrew Isaac and no.5 Lewis Fisher both opened up with convincing wins. At no.4 Ed Colclough also convincingly saw off his opponent, while at no.3 and no.2 Henry and Dom Beesley both battled hard to gain three set wins. At no.1 seed Joe Woolley comfortably saw off his opponent to give Lincs an unassailable 6-0 lead after the singles matches. Doubles wins for the pairs of Seb Darke & Andrew Isaac, William Bourne & Lewis Fisher and Dom Beesley & Joe Woolley gave Lincs a commanding 9-0 victory.

Day Two: A tough match against Somerset on day two opened up well with two hard fought, three set wins for Seb Darke at 6 and Andrew Isaac at 5, both displaying great fighting qualities to come back from the brink of defeat! At numbers 4 & 3, Colclough  and Henry Beesley both saw off their opponents in style, while Dom Beesley at 2 had to fight doggedly all day to see off his opponent in a 3 hour match, leaving Woolley to convincingly wrap up all 6 singles rubbers again! Two doubles wins for Bourne & Colclough and Woolley & Fisher, and a disappointing loss for Dom Beesley and Isaac, saw Lincs to a 8-1 victory.

Day Three: After a surprising loss for North of Scotland to the East, we knew 3 rubbers would guarantee Lincs promotion. On paper however the North appeared to be by far our strongest opponents. A tense round of singles followed, with a win for Isaac at 6, a loss for Fisher at 5 and a win for Colclough at 4 leaving lincs 2-1 up. One more rubber needed! At 3 Henry Beesley looked down and out numerous times, especially at 4-2, 15-40 down in the third, but once again managed to pull it out the bag to give Lincs the vital third rubber. Dom unfortunately lost to a very good opponent at 2, before Woolley beat his higher ranked opponent 6-3 6-0 in a devastating performance! A doubles win for Darke and Bourne capping off a 5-4 rubber win overall, and Lincs consecutive promotions!

All credit has to go to the players for their professionalism and behaviour on and off the court and for contributing to a fun and successful weekend! If the team stick together the future is very bright for the group!
