Grantham’s Aidan Bennett wins gold medal!

The event attracted a strong field from all over the Country.  Aidan had to play three matches in total, winning two of them. This meant he was tied with another player, David Jones. When Aidan raced into a 3-0 lead, David dug deep to reel off 4 games in a row. Both players were now playing at their absolute best.

They traded breaks of serve until the set was tied at 6-6 in what was a great performance from great players.  Aidan chased every ball down brilliantly and managed to secure the match on his first match point. This dramatic victory ensured that Aidan won the gold medal in his group.

Aidan is a member of Grantham Tennis Club where he trains twice a week.
