On Friday 31 March, I attended Lincoln Castle (what a venue!) for the launch of Active Lincolnshire, the new name for Lincolnshire Sport.
It was an excellent event and a great opportunity to do some networking.
You can read all about it here http://activelincolnshire.com/about-us/strategy2021/ and at Lincolnshire-Sport-gets-active
On the day I was asked to make an Active Community Pledge on behalf of Lincolnshire Tennis. After some deliberation I decided it would be:-
“Through the 2 Great British Tennis Weekends to be held in May and July, Lincolnshire Tennis pledges to get more people, more active and healthier by playing tennis regularly at one of our member clubs.”
This should not be too much of a challenge for Lincs Tennis but it will make a difference and help Active Lincolnshire achieve their vision of wanting to have an additional 20,021 people who are currently inactive to be more active by 2021.
In addition, CEO Janet Inman, who retires this year, was presented with her BEM in recognition of her services to sport. She will be missed.
Please do all you can to promote this within your clubs and local areas.
Thanks, John
