On Saturday 20th April on the most beautiful day so far this spring, 8 boys and 5 girls competed to make it through to the county Road to Wimbledon final, from the Tennis for Life event. The boys played a compass draw of 8 and was closely contended at the semi final stage, with Harris Tzakas beating Barney Hewett and Owen Daly beating James Isbill. In the consolation final Cade Emerson beat Advik Chitre. While in the boys final Harris beat Owen in a second set tie break.
With 5 girls the all got to play each other. Ruhi Chitre won all her matches, while joint second with 2 wins each was Alice Curtin and Isabelle Wickham. Then closely behind them in joint fourth was Stephanie Hogg and Olivia Robinson.
The day was full of smile faces and good tennis. A big thank you to the tennis leaders for helping with the scoring and running the event. Also a huge thank you to all the supporters we had throughout the day who kept everyone full of food and drinks and supplied lots of clapping and encouragement.
