Aegon County Cup Ladies, Div 3 Gloucester
Norfolk were a happy team on day 2 of county cup but it wasn't an easy victory. Playing Somerset across 3 courts the 4,5,6 singles went on first.
Vianne Palffy took the 1st win of the day at number 5. Unfortunately not until olivia went on did we gain our 2nd win in the singles. Going in to the doubles we were 4-2 down so the pressure was on each pair. We kept the same pairs ad yesterday of Olivia/Amy, Karen/Frances and Lucy/Sam. Lucy and Sam went 3-0 down before finding their game and taking it in 2 sets. Amy and Olivia finished next again in 2 sets leaving Karen and Frances still on court. They went down 4-2 in the second set after winning the first but held their nerve to win in 2 sets. A strong performance from each pair to finish off the day with a 5-4 win. Tomorrow we will play Cheshire in the tie for promotion!
